Regular Season Round 7: Litija - Medvode 89-57

Litija has finally registered their first victory this season after six consecutive loses. The win is especially important as they outplayed much higher ranked Medvode (3-3) 89-57 on Saturday. The game without a history. Litija led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They also forced 22 Medvode turnovers. 32 personal fouls committed by Medvode helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for point guard Klemen Panic (180-91) who led his team to a victory scoring 26 points and 5 rebounds. Center Crt Lipovsek (194-88) helped adding 11 points and 9 rebounds. Five Litija players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Dejan Buncic (177-77) responded with 9 points and 4 assists and center Zan Jenko (204-87) scored 9 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. It was the only win of host team this round and in all other games visitors recorded victories. Litija (1-6) left bottom position moving up to eleventh place, which they share with Konjice and Jance Prit. Medvode at the other side keeps the seventh position with three games lost. They share it with Terme Olimia. Litija is looking forward to face higher ranked Terme Olimia (#8) in Podcetrtek in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Medvode will play at home against Radenska in Murska Sobota and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
