Regular Season Round 7: NY Phantoms - Art.Dragons 71-72

A very interesting game took place in Braunschweig. It ended with only one-point home defeat of 10th ranked New Yorker Phantoms (3-4) to eighth ranked Artland Dragons (4-3) 72-71 on Saturday evening. The guests were ahead by 11 points but lost the second period ending it with a 1-point deficit before their 17-15 run, which allowed them to win the game. American guard David Holston (170-86, college: Chicago St.) fired 20 points and 4 assists for the winners. His fellow American import power forward Anthony King (206-85, college: Miami, FL, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 15 points and 8 rebounds. Four Artland Dragons players scored in double figures. American center Kyle Visser (211-85, college: Wake Forest) produced 21 points and 9 rebounds (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field) and Serbian forward Branko Jorovic (205-81, agency: Beo Basket) added 13 points respectively for lost side. New Yorker Phantoms' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Artland Dragons moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Bremerhaven. New Yorker Phantoms at the other side dropped to the ninth position with four games lost. Artland Dragons' next round opponent will be higher ranked Bayern Muenchen (#4) at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. New Yorker Phantoms will play against TBB Trier (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
