ProA top team - Mitteldeutscher BC (6-1) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed seventh ranked Cuxhaven BasCats (4-3) in Weissenfels 107-69. The game without a history. Mitteldeutscher BC led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Cuxhaven BasCats' 36. Mitteldeutscher BC looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The winners were led by American guard Darius Hargrove (193-82, college: Virginia Union, agency: Strategic Sports) who scored that evening 20 points and 5 rebounds and power forward Steve Wachalski (203-83) supported him with 24 points and 4 steals. Four Mitteldeutscher BC players scored in double figures. Mitteldeutscher BC's coach Silvano Poropat felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 18 points and 7 rebounds by American swingman Quinnel Brown (198-83, college: Auburn) did not help to save the game for Cuxhaven BasCats. His fellow American import power forward Evan Harris (206-86, college: Harvard, agency: I.D.S. Law) added 14 points and 8 rebounds for the guests. Mitteldeutscher BC have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 6-1 record. Cuxhaven BasCats at the other side dropped to the sixth place with three games lost. They share the position with Duesseldorf. Mitteldeutscher BC will meet Webmoebel Baskets (#5) in the next round. Cuxhaven BasCats will play against Leitershofen in Diedorf and hope to secure a win.
