NBL top team - Dunav 8806 (3-0) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed seventh ranked Slavia (0-4) in Sofia 94-73. The game was mostly controlled by Dunav 8806. Slavia managed to win fourth quarter 20-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Dunav 8806 dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Slavia's 30. They outrebounded Slavia 44-25 including a 30-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Adrienne Johnson (182-89, college: Louisiana Tech, agency: LBM Management) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and 9 rebounds. The other American import guard Charel Allen (181-86, college: Notre Dame, agency: LBM Management) contributed with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Guard Stanislava Stankova (172-90) replied with 30 points and 5 assists (made all of her seven free throws) and power forward Antonia Zagorova (190-90) added 14 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Slavia. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Dunav 8806 have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 3-0 record. Slavia at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost. Dunav 8806 are looking forward to face Montana 2003 (#5) at home in the next round. Slavia will play against Beroe 07 in Stara Zagora and hopes to get finally their first victory.
