Regular Season Round 7: Bremerhaven - Walter Tigers 83-90

Walter Tigers' fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after six consecutive loses. The victory is especially important as they defeated much higher ranked Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (4-3)on the road game in Bremerhaven 90-83. It looked good early as Eisbaeren Bremerhaven took an 8-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Walter Tigers took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 7 points. They shot the lights out from three nailing 14 long-distance shots on high 63.6 percentage. Walter Tigers players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. American players dominated also this game. It was a great evening for guard Louis Campbell (190-79, college: Buffalo, agency: Pro One Sports) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 7 rebounds and 11 assists. Guard Joshua Young (185-88, college: Drake, agency: Pro One Sports) helped adding 16 points and 4 assists. Five Walter Tigers players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Zachery Peacock (203-87, college: Georgia Tech, agency: Pro One Sports) responded with 25 points and 5 rebounds and swingman Torrell Martin (196-85, college: Winthrop) scored 21 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Walter Tigers (1-6) left bottom position moving up to seventeenth place, which they share with Goettingen. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven at the other side dropped to the seventh position with three games lost. They share it with Art.Dragons. Walter Tigers will play against higher ranked BBC Bayreuth (#14) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven will play against Deutsche Bank Skyliners (#15) in Frankfurt and hopes to get back on the winning track.
