Regular Season Round 7: Aabyhoj - Horsens 69-62

Another exciting game for Aabyhoj (2-5) which hosted 4th placed Horsens (3-4). Seventh ranked Aabyhoj won 69-62. Horsens were tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. They outrebounded Horsens 38-27 including 26 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for forward Courtney Coryea (185) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Maria Jespersen (179-94) helped adding 16 points and 7 rebounds. Aabyhoj's coach Thomas Press allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side American swingman Brittany Bowen (177-88, college: Butler) responded with 20 points and 7 rebounds and Australian guard Charmaine Furgeson (176-86) scored 21 points and 6 rebounds (made all of her seven free throws). Aabyhoj moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Falcon. Horsens at the other side keep the fourth position with four games lost. They share it with Vaerlose. Aabyhoj will play against league's second-placed Horsholm on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Horsens will play against the league's leader SISU in Copenhagen and hope to get back on the winning track.
