NBL top team - Dunav 8806 (4-0) added another victory to their record on Wednesday. This time they beat fifth ranked Montana 2003 (1-3) in Ruse 77-69. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 21-15. But Montana 2003 won second period 18-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Dunav 8806 forced 19 Montana 2003 turnovers. American forward Adrienne Johnson (182-89, college: Louisiana Tech, agency: LBM Management) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and power forward Hristina Minkova (184-72) chipped in 17 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. Four Dunav 8806 players scored in double figures. The former international forward Natalia Topalova-Shopova (186-80) responded with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 12 rebounds and the former international center Dimana Makarieva (188-88) scored 18 points. Dunav 8806 have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 4-0 record. Montana 2003 lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with three games lost. They share it with Rilski Sportist. Dunav 8806 are looking forward to face Rilski Sportist (#6) in Samokov in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Montana 2003 will play at home against the league's second-placed Beroe 07 in Stara Zagora and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
