Very predictable result when seventh ranked Cuxhaven BasCats (5-3) defeated at home bottom-ranked Leitershofen (1-7) 81-63 on Thursday. The game without a history. Cuxhaven BasCats led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Americans were the main players on the court. Power forward Evan Harris (206-86, college: Harvard, agency: I.D.S. Law) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 22 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners and swingman Quinnel Brown (198-83, college: Auburn) chipped in 29 points (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). The best for the losing side was forward Logan Stutz (205-88, college: Washburn, agency: Scorers 1st Sportmanagement) with 16 points and center DeWayne Richardson (202-77, college: Fairmont St.) scored 8 points and 10 rebounds. Leitershofen's coach Stefan Goschenhofer let to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Cuxhaven BasCats moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Newly promoted Leitershofen dropped to the bottom position with seven games lost. Cuxhaven BasCats will face ETB Wohnbau (#13) in Essen in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
