The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Budivelnyk as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Budivelnyk defeated 4th ranked Hoverla in Kyiv 73-64. The hosts trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 73-64. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Zach Morley (203-83, college: Wisconsin) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds. Naturalized Lithuanian center Michailis Anisimovas (214-84) contributed with 12 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Budivelnyk's coach Zvezdan Mitrovic used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American swingman Kevin Tiggs (196-84, college: E.Tenn.St.) replied with 18 points and 6 rebounds and his fellow American import center Eric Coleman (200-85, college: N.Iowa, agency: Hart Sports Mngm) added 10 points and 14 rebounds in the effort for Hoverla. Four Hoverla players scored in double figures. Budivelnyk have a solid four-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Hoverla lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth place with five games lost. They share the position with Khimik. Hoverla will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Budivelnyk will try to continue on its current victory against seventh ranked Ferro-ZNTU in Zaporozhye.
