One of their biggest challengers Bayern Muenchen (5-3) fell to eighth ranked Artland Dragons (5-3) in overtime by three points 83-86 on Saturday night. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Bayern Muenchen won third quarter 18-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where Bayern Muenchen used huge pressure winning it 20-17 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 11-14. Bayern Muenchen was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard David Holston (170-86, college: Chicago St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. American-Puerto Rican forward Nathan Peavy (203-85, college: Miami, OH) contributed with 11 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American guard Je'Kel Foster (191-83, college: Ohio St.) replied with 31 points and his fellow American import forward Chevon Troutman (202-81, college: Pittsburgh, agency: ACMT) added 21 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Bayern Muenchen. Bayern Muenchen's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Artland Dragons moved-up to sixth place, which they share with B.Muenchen and Bremerhaven. Artland Dragons will face BG Goettingen (#17) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them.
