Regular Season Round 10: Azovmash - BC Donetsk 73-67

An interesting game for Azovmash (8-2) which hosted in Mariupol their biggest opponent BC Donetsk (8-4). Third ranked Azovmash managed to get a 6-point victory 73-67. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of BC Donetsk. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But BC Donetsk won third quarter 24-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Azovmash won last quarter 16-12. They made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. American swingman Ricky Minard (196-82, college: Morehead St.) notched 18 points and 5 assists to lead the effort and the former international center Oleksiy Pecherov (213-85) supported him with 13 points and 9 rebounds. Even 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists by American guard Ramel Curry (192-80, college: CSU Bakersfield) did not help to save the game for BC Donetsk. International center Viacheslav Kravtsov (211-87, agency: Beo Basket) added 14 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Five Azovmash and four BC Donetsk players scored in double figures. Azovmash have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Loser BC Donetsk dropped to the third position with four games lost. Azovmash will meet Dnipro (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. BC Donetsk will have a break next round.
