A very interesting game took place in Mazeikiai. It ended with only two-point home defeat of 14th ranked Mazeikiai (4-8) to eleventh ranked Meresta (6-6) 80-78 on Saturday evening. The guests were ahead by 1 point but lost the second period ending it with a 12-point deficit before their 27-13 run, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was forward Audrius Maneikis (203-84, college: Motlow St. CC) who scored 17 points and 8 rebounds. Center Aivaras Galkauskas (203-91) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds. Four Meresta players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Janas Jurgo (200-83) who recorded a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds and American guard Parrish Brown (185-84, college: Maryland, agency: Hightower Law Firm) added 22 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Meresta have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Triobet and Statyba. Mazeikiai at the other side dropped to the thirteenth position with eight games lost. Meresta's next round opponent will be Ezerunas-Karys (#11) in Moletai. Mazeikiai will play at home against Statyba in Vilnius.
