Not a big story in a game when 15th ranked Pertevniyal (2-5) lost to sixth ranked Optimum TED (5-2) in Istanbul 72-82 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Optimum TED. Pertevniyal was better in second period 24-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Pertevniyal to just 7 points in first quarter. Optimum TED looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Pertevniyal's players. Forward Cihad Sahin (203-83) orchestrated the victory by scoring 11 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Swingman Cihan Amasyali (191-83) contributed with 17 points and 5 assists for the winners. Four Optimum TED players scored in double figures. Burak Can replied with 12 points and 8 rebounds and guard Omer Sancakli (195-92, agency: 1x1 Sports) added 17 points in the effort for Pertevniyal. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Optimum TED have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Vestel and Final Genclik. Loser Pertevniyal dropped to the fourteenth position with five games lost. Optimum TED will face league's leader Akhisar Bld at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Pertevniyal will play against Gelisim (#18) in Izmir.
