Regular Season Round 11: Bayer Giants - Vechta 86-76

There was an upset in Leverkusen where 4th placed SC Rasta Vechta (6-4) was defeated by tenth ranked Bayer Giants (4-6) 86-76 on Saturday. The game without a history. Bayer Giants led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Bayer Giants shot 24 for 34 from the free-throw line, while SC Rasta Vechta only scored seven points from the stripe. It was a great evening for guard Till-Joscha Joenke (189-92) who led his team to a victory scoring 9 points, 16 rebounds and 6 assists. American forward Casey Robinson (198-87, college: Alaska-Anch.) helped adding 14 points and 9 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). Guard Marvin Boadu (193-89) responded with 19 points and 8 rebounds and American forward A.J. Rudowitz (198-88, college: Stonehill) scored 14 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Bayer Giants have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to ninth place in Group North, which they share with Rist Wedel. Loser SC Rasta Vechta keeps the fourth position with four games lost. Bayer Giants will face league's second-placed Dorsten on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. SC Rasta Vechta will play against RSV Eintracht in Stahnsdorf and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
