There was an upset in Frankfurt where higher ranked Hanau (4-5) was outplayed by eleventh ranked Fraport Skyliners II (2-7) 104-73 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Fraport Skyliners II. Hanau was better in second period 17-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Fraport Skyliners II made 30-of-35 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game, while Hanau only scored eight points from the stripe. Fraport Skyliners II forced 20 Hanau turnovers. Hanau was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for forward Fabian Franke (198-88) who led his team to a victory scoring 28 points. American guard Larry Wright (187-87, college: Oakland) helped adding 17 points and 5 rebounds. Five Fraport Skyliners II players scored in double figures. Indian-American guard Anish Sharda (191-82, college: St.Mary's (KS)) responded with 19 points and American forward Logan Magnusson (198-86, college: BYU) scored 15 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Fraport Skyliners II moved-up to tenth place in Group South, which they share with Giessen. Hanau lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the seventh position with five games lost. Fraport Skyliners II will face league's second-placed Noerdlingen on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
