Rather expected game when 14th ranked BG Karlsruhe (1-8) was defeated on the road by eleventh ranked BV Chemnitz 99 (5-5) 88-71 on Sunday. The game without a history. BV Chemnitz 99 led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was a great shooting night for BV Chemnitz 99 especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 58.8 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Japanese point guard Takumi Ishizaki (188-84) fired 26 points and 5 rebounds (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!) for the winners. Power forward Alexander Rosenthal (201-88) chipped in 23 points. Four BV Chemnitz 99 players scored in double figures. American guard Martin Samarco (191-85, college: Bowling Green) produced 33 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Michael Stockton (185-89, college: Westminster, agency: Limelight Hoops) added 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for lost side. BV Chemnitz 99 moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Jena. BG Karlsruhe lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth position with eight games lost. They share it with Leitershofen. BV Chemnitz 99 will meet NBC (#10) in the next round. BG Karlsruhe will play against USC Heidelberg (#6).
