Regular Season Round 11: Bakken - SISU 72-52

Rather predictable result in Aarhus where second ranked Bakken (8-1) smashed 6th ranked SISU (4-7) 72-52 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Bakken. SISU managed to win second period 19-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding SISU to just 7 points in third quarter. They outrebounded SISU 44-29 including a 22-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was international swingman Chris Nielsen (192-85) who scored 14 points. The former international power forward Nicolai Iversen (205-80, college: San Jose City JC) chipped in 7 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Bakken's coach Philip Dejworek used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. American forward Jenard Harrison (203-84, college: Amer.Internat.) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import swingman Mickey Dennis (190-78, college: JMU) added 7 points respectively for the guests. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Bakken. Defending champion maintains second place with 8-1 record having five points less than leader Svendborg. Loser SISU keeps the sixth position with seven games lost. They share it with Vaerlose. Bakken will meet at home Aalborg (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. SISU will play against Vaerlose and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
