Regular Season Round 6: Maribor Messer - Zlatorog 71-68

The most surprising game was the first loss of undefeated Zlatorog (4-1) on the court of ninth ranked Maribor Messer on Wednesday night. Visitors were edged by Maribor Messer 71-68. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Zlatorog. Zlatorog was trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 8-point lead after three quarters before a 22-11 charge of Maribor Messer, which allowed them to win the game. It was a good game for forward Sasa Mucic (202-83) who led his team to a victory with 17 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Bojan Jovanovic (186-82) contributed with 15 points and 6 assists for the winners. Serbian forward Vladimir Panic (194-82, agency: 011 Sports) replied with 17 points and Croatian power forward Jure Skific (202-88) added 10 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Zlatorog. Four Zlatorog players scored in double figures. Maribor Messer (2-4) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Polzela. Zlatorog at the other side dropped to the third position with one game lost. Maribor Messer is looking forward to face higher ranked Geoplin Slovan (#5) in Ljubljana in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Zlatorog will play at home against the league's second-placed Elektra where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
