Superleague top team - Budivelnyk (10-1) added another victory to their record. This time they beat ninth ranked Ferro-ZNTU (6-5) in Zaporozhye 78-70. Ferro-ZNTU was ahead by 2 points after three quarters before a 22-12 charge of Budivelnyk, which allowed them to win the game. It was a quality performance for American forward Zach Morley (203-83, college: Wisconsin) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Montenegrin-Bosnian swingman Suad Sehovic (197-87) accounted for 16 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Four Budivelnyk players scored in double figures. American center R.T. Guinn (208-81, college: Baylor) came up with 16 points and the other American import guard Randy Culpepper (182-89, college: UTEP) added 15 points and 4 assists respectively for Ferro-ZNTU in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Budivelnyk. Defending champion maintains first place with 10-1 record. Ferro-ZNTU lost their third game in a row. They keep the ninth position with five games lost. Budivelnyk will play against bottom-ranked Kryvbasbasket (#14) in Krivoy Rog in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Ferro-ZNTU will play on the road against Dnipro (#4) in Dnepropetrovsk and hopes to get back on the winning track.
