We should mention about the upset which took place in Vilnius, where higher ranked Perlas-MRU (7-6) lost at home to fourteenth ranked S.Marciulionio (5-8) 73-77 on Friday. Perlas-MRU was trailing by 4 points at halftime but managed to get 6-point lead after three quarters before a 25-15 charge of S.Marciulionio, which allowed them to win the game. Perlas-MRU was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Vaidas Trepocka (200-80, agency: Court Side) fired 26 points for the winners. Forward Jonas Elvikis (195-82) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds. S.Marciulionio's coach Gintaras Pocius allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Guard Gintautas Vileita (194-75, college: Monmouth) produced 28 points and 6 rebounds and forward Karolis Brusokas (200-91) added 8 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. S.Marciulionio moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Silute and Mazeikiai. Loser Perlas-MRU keeps the sixth position with six games lost. S.Marciulionio will face higher ranked Triobet (#6) in Jonava in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
