Regular Season Round 11: Mykolaiv - Khimik 80-85

Rather expected game when 10th ranked Mykolaiv (4-8) was defeated at home by seventh ranked Khimik (8-5) 85-80 on Friday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 19-13. But Mykolaiv won second period 23-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Khimik made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Mykolaiv was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for forward Denis Ikovlev (201-86, college: Nevada, agency: RIZO) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. American power forward Aaron McGhee (203-79, college: Oklahoma) helped adding 19 points and 9 rebounds. American swingman Rodney Green (195-88, college: La Salle) responded with 24 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import center Daniel McClintock (212-77, college: N.Arizona) scored 11 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Khimik moved-up to fifth place. Mykolaiv lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the tenth position with eight games lost. Khimik will have a break next round. Mykolaiv will play at home against BC Kyiv (#6).
