There was a surprise result when eleventh ranked Statyba (7-7) rolled over higher ranked Nafta Universitetas (8-6) in Vilnius 81-61 on Saturday. The game without a history. Statyba led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Center Vitalijus Luksa (206-86) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Remigijus Sugintas (196-87) contributed with 18 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Guard Modestas Kumpys (191-91) replied with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds and guard Haroldas Venskus (180-91) added 12 points and 4 assists in the effort for Nafta Universitetas. Four Nafta Universitetas players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Statyba moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Nafta Universitetas dropped to the third position with six games lost. Statyba will face Matinga-Juod.
