Everything went according to plan when fifth ranked Final Genclik (6-2) beat on the road 16th ranked TED Istanbul (2-6) 83-76 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 83-76. Final Genclik forced 19 TED Istanbul turnovers. American power forward Cyrus Tate (203-85, college: Iowa, agency: Edge Sports) stepped up and scored 32 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and point guard Erdem Ilter (-90) chipped in 14 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists. The best for the losing side was forward Sercan Tulek (201-88) with 18 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and American center Bruce Brown (213-83, college: Hampton) scored 10 points and 9 rebounds. Four TED Istanbul players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Final Genclik moved-up to third place, which they share with Optimum TED. TED Istanbul lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the fourteenth position with six games lost. Final Genclik will face Darussafaka (#8) in Istanbul in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. TED Istanbul will play on the road against Orman Genc (#20) in Ankara.
