Date: November 19, 2011
There was no surprise when 11th ranked Ehingen/Urspringschule (4-7) was crushed on the road by third ranked Crailsheim Merlins (8-3) 76-52 on Saturday. The game without a history. Crailsheim Merlins led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Ehingen/Urspringschule to just 7 points in fourth quarter. The best player for the winners was American forward Darryl Webb (198-88, college: Indiana, PA, agency: Pro One Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. Naturalized American forward Joseph Buck (201-81, college: USC) chipped in 14 points and 9 rebounds. Four Crailsheim Merlins players scored in double figures. Swingman Kevin Bright (198-92) produced 12 points and 7 rebounds and American guard Virgil Matthews (188-83, college: Montana) added 9 points respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Crailsheim Merlins moved-up to second place.
