Regular Season Round 9: TED Kolejliler - Akhisar Bld 81-67

There was a change at the TB2L leadership position after last games. Round 9 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Akhisar Bld (7-1). They were defeated by fourth ranked Optimum TED (6-2) 81-67 on Saturday night. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Akhisar Bld. The game was mostly controlled by Optimum TED. Akhisar Bld managed to win third quarter 20-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Optimum TED dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Akhisar Bld's 30. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Nigerian-Canadian swingman Olumuyiwa Famutimi (198-84, college: Arkansas) stepped up and scored 17 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and power forward Nezih Ozbakir (206-80) chipped in 16 points and 8 rebounds. Five Optimum TED players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Tyrone Nelson (206-85, college: N.Mexico St.) with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 13 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) and guard Levent Demirci (190-76) scored 4 points and 5 assists. Akhisar Bld's coach Zafer Aktas rotated eleven players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Optimum TED have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Final Genclik. Akhisar Bld at the other side dropped to the second position with one game lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Genc Telekom. Akhisar Bld will play next round against Gelisim trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Optimum TED will try to continue on its current victory against thirteenth ranked Balikesir on the road.
