Regular Season Round 11: Aviastar - Koksokh-Stal 85-77

No shocking result in a game in Zaporozhye where fourth ranked Aviastar (7-3) defeated 7th ranked Koksokh-Stal (3-7) 85-77. Koksokh-Stal was ahead by 3 points at the halftime before a 47-36 second half run of Aviastar. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Koksokh-Stal's 34. The former international guard Vitaly Boyko (183-82) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 32 points, 5 rebounds, 10 assists and 5 steals (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). Forward Sergei Fedorov (198-87) contributed with 13 points for the winners. Aviastar's coach Volodimir Sevastyanov allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Swingman Boris Bereziuk (196-87) answered with 24 points and 5 rebounds and power forward Jan Selivanov (200-79) added 21 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Koksokh-Stal. Four Koksokh-Stal players scored in double figures. Aviastar maintains fourth place with 7-3 record. Koksokh-Stal at the other side keeps the seventh position with seven games lost. Aviastar will play against Vinnitsky Zubry (#9) in Vinnytsya in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Koksokh-Stal will play on the road against BK Kremen in Kremenchuk and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
