Regular Season Round 6: Tofas - Galatasaray 75-95

The game in Bursa supposed to be also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Galatasaray (5-1) played at the court of 8th ranked Tofas (3-3). Galatasaray did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 95-75 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Galatasaray. Tofas was better in fourth quarter 27-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 20-of-23 free shots (87.0 percent) during the game. Galatasaray had a 25-14 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Galatasaray especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 64.7 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American swingman Joshua Shipp (196-86, college: UCLA) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Slovenian guard Jaka Lakovic (186-78) chipped in 10 points and 6 assists during the contest. Five Galatasaray players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Bradley Buckman (203-84, college: Texas) with 20 points and 6 rebounds and his fellow American import point guard Ronald Steele (187-86, college: Alabama) scored 15 points (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Galatasaray moved-up to second place, which they share with Turk Telekom and Besiktas. Loser Tofas keeps the eighth position with three games lost. Galatasaray will face Trabzonspor (#14) at home in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Tofas will play against Hacettepe Univ. (#13) in Ankara.
