Regular Season Round 12: Dorsten - Bayer Giants 82-75

There was no surprise when 10th ranked Bayer Giants (4-7) were defeated on the road by second ranked Dorsten (8-3) 82-75 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 4 points after three quarters before their 25-14 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Dorsten forced 20 Bayer Giants turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 56.0 percentage. The best player for the winners was American center Blake Poole (195-88, college: St.Martin's, agency: Scorers 1st Sportmanagement) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Guard John Cadmus (183-85) chipped in 23 points. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Jack Eggleston (203-88, college: Pennsylvania, agency: Pro One Sports) who recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds and guard Till-Joscha Joenke (189-92) added 11 points and 11 rebounds respectively. Four Dorsten and five Bayer Giants players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Dorsten maintains second position in Group North with 8-3 record having just -1 point less than leader BSW Sixers. Loser Bayer Giants dropped to the ninth place with seven games lost. Dorsten will face SC Rasta Vechta (#4) on the road in the next round. Bayer Giants will play against SG Schwelmer Baskets (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
