Regular Season Round 13: Dragons - Hanau 71-64

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 7th ranked Hanau's (5-6) road loss to sixth ranked Dragons Rhoendorf (6-4) 64-71 on Tuesday. Hanau was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 7-point lead after three quarters before a 26-12 charge of Dragons Rhoendorf, which allowed them to win the game. Quite impressive performance for Latvian power forward Edmunds Tukiss (200-89) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds. Guard Nick Larsen (187-83) contributed with 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Indian-American guard Anish Sharda (191-82, college: St.Mary's (KS)) answered with 13 points and 4 assists and forward Jens Hirschberg (200-88) added 9 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Hanau. Hanau's coach Hans Beth tested ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Dragons Rhoendorf moved-up to fifth place in Group South. Newly promoted Hanau dropped to the eighth position with six games lost. Dragons Rhoendorf will face league's second-placed Noerdlingen at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Hanau will play against TSV Troester (#9) in Breitenguessbach and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
