Very predictable result when fourth ranked Optimum TED (7-2) beat on the road 13th ranked Balikesir (3-6) 70-55 on Wednesday. The game without a history. Optimum TED led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Optimum TED had a 30-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Nigerian-Canadian swingman Olumuyiwa Famutimi (198-84, college: Arkansas) fired 24 points and 7 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners. Forward Cihad Sahin (203-83) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds. American forward Charles Jackson (203-87, college: Hawaii-Pacific, agency: Court Side) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds and guard Selaattin Akyol (180-86) added 9 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Balikesir's coach Ismail Dogrutekin rotated eleven players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Optimum TED have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Akhisar Bld. Newly promoted Balikesir keeps the thirteenth position with six games lost. Optimum TED will face Usak (#12) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Balikesir will play against Gelisim in Izmir and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
