Rather predictable result in Moletai where fifth ranked Nafta Universitetas (9-6) defeated 9th ranked Ezerunas-Karys (7-8) 81-71 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Nafta Universitetas. Ezerunas-Karys was better in fourth quarter 27-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Ezerunas-Karys was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for guard Modestas Kumpys (191-91) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Evaldas Lengvinas (190-89) helped adding 19 points and 7 steals. The best for the losing side was forward Raimondas Ambrulaitis (199-82) with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and forward Andrius Slezas (200-75) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Ezerunas-Karys' coach Mindaugas Kildisius rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Nafta Universitetas moved-up to third place, which they share with Triobet and Zalgiris-Sabonio. Newly promoted Ezerunas-Karys keeps the ninth position with eight games lost. Nafta Universitetas will have a break next round. Ezerunas-Karys will play again on the road against Nafta Universitetas (#5) in Klaipeda.
