There was no surprise when 12th ranked Silute (6-9) was edged at home by third ranked Zalgiris-Sabonio (9-6) 80-78 on Friday. The guests trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 27-23 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Zalgiris-Sabonio outrebounded Silute 45-33 including 31 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for forward Vaidas Kariniauskas (198-93) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points. Power forward Simonas Kymantas (204-93) helped adding 4 points and 17 rebounds. Zalgiris-Sabonio's coach Saulius Stombergas used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was guard Ignas Razutis (185-87) with 12 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists and 6 steals and swingman Andrius Cizikas (197-88) scored 17 points. Five Silute players scored in double figures. Zalgiris-Sabonio maintains third place with 9-6 record having just two points less than leader Radviliskis, which they share with Nafta Universitetas and Triobet. Loser Silute keeps the twelfth position with nine games lost.
