Regular Season Round 15: ABRO-Univ. - Meresta 65-76

Not a big story in a game in Siauliai where 15th ranked ABRO-Universitetas (4-11) was defeated by eighth ranked Meresta (8-7) 76-65 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Meresta. ABRO-Universitetas was better in fourth quarter 17-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Meresta forced 20 ABRO-Universitetas turnovers. It was a great evening for guard Simonas Slivka (193-86) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Audrius Maneikis (203-84, college: Motlow St. CC) helped adding 21 points and 5 rebounds. Four Meresta players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was center Julius Jucikas (205-89) with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!) and guard Rokas Giedraitis (195-92) scored 18 points. Meresta moved-up to sixth place, which they share with LKKA-Atletas and Matinga-Juod. Loser ABRO-Universitetas keeps the fifteenth position with 11 games lost. Meresta will have a break next round. ABRO-Universitetas will play again on the road against Meresta (#7) in Pakruojis.
