Regular Season Round 6: Galitos-Tley - Sangalhos 66-53

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Galitos-Tley (5-1) beat 5th ranked Sangalhos (3-3) in Barreiro 66-53 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Galitos-Tley. Sangalhos managed to win fourth quarter 17-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Sangalhos 42-25 including 27 on the defensive glass. Forward Rui Quintino (196-83) notched a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds to lead the effort and Cape Verdean forward Denis Neves (197-78) supported him with 12 points and 9 rebounds. Four Galitos-Tley players scored in double figures. Galitos-Tley's coach Francisco Edgard used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 25 points and 5 rebounds by swingman Emanuel Silva (188-79) did not help to save the game for Sangalhos. Guard Andre Duarte (178-81) added 12 points, 6 assists and 5 steals. Galitos-Tley have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 5-1 record behind leader Alges, which they share with Illiabum. Loser Sangalhos keep the fifth place with three games lost. They share the position with Electrico FC. Galitos-Tley will meet at home Maia Basket (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Sangalhos will play against the league's leader Alges (#1) and hope to secure a win.
