There was a minor upset when 8th ranked Matinga-Juod. (8-8) was defeated at home by eleventh ranked Statyba (8-8) 82-71 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 82-71. Statyba outrebounded Matinga-Juod. 38-23 including 16 on the offensive glass. Forward Eigirdas Zukauskas (201-92) fired 22 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Guard Mindaugas Budzinauskas (198-73) chipped in 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Aurimas Birgelis (190-88) produced 27 points and 4 assists and center Paulius Gvazdaitis (208-89) added 16 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) respectively for lost side. Statyba moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Perlas-MRU and Matinga-Juod. Statyba will face Ezerunas-Karys (#11) in Moletai in the next round.
