An interesting game for Illiabum (5-1) which hosted in Ilhavo one of their biggest challengers Oliveirense (4-2). Third ranked Illiabum had an easy win 88-71. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Oliveirense. Illiabum dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Oliveirense's 34. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Oliveirense's players. The former international guard Joao Figueiredo (183-79) had a double-double by scoring 21 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists to lead the charge for the winners and forward Pedro Azevedo (193-81) chipped in 24 points and 4 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was American forward Spencer Johnson (198-87, college: UMKC) with 12 points and 8 rebounds and guard Nuno Freitas (180-81) scored 13 points and 4 assists. Four Oliveirense players scored in double figures. Illiabum moved-up to second place, which they share with Galitos-Tley. Newly promoted Oliveirense keeps the fourth position with two games lost. Illiabum will play against Fisica (#10) in Torres Vedras in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Oliveirense will play against Gaeirense (#11) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
