Nineteenth-ranked TED Istanbul (2-8) used its home court advantage to challenge leader Genc Telekom (10-0) on Saturday. The visitors from Ankara managed to secure only one-point victory 70-69. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 24-20. But TED Istanbul won second period 15-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Genc Telekom won last quarter 17-17. Croatian power forward Nenad Delic (210-84, agency: TSS Management) saved the victory by scoring 21 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Sahin Ekmen (203-89) contributed with 14 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American center Bruce Brown (213-83, college: Hampton) answered with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds and forward Sercan Tulek (201-88) added 10 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for TED Istanbul. Genc Telekom have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. They maintain first place with 10-0 record. TED Istanbul lost sixth consecutive game. They dropped to the sixteenth position with eight games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. Genc Telekom are looking forward to face Final Genclik (#5) in Bursa in the next round. TED Istanbul will play on the road against Gaziantep (#6) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
