Regular Season Round 13: Azovmash - Khimik 64-65

Important game to mention about took place in Mariupol. Sixth ranked Khimik (9-5) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging much higher ranked Azovmash (10-4) 65-64 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Azovmash. It looked good early as Azovmash took an 13-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Khimik took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 1 point. American players dominated the game. point guard Darrel Mitchell (181-84, college: LSU, agency: Beo Basket) stepped up and scored 16 points for the winners and forward Reyshawn Terry (203-84, college: N.Carolina) chipped in 14 points and 6 rebounds. At the losing side guard Daniel Ewing (191-83, college: Duke, agency: Alti Sport) responded with 17 points and swingman Ricky Minard (196-82, college: Morehead St.) scored 19 points. Khimik have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with BC Odessa. Azovmash at the other side keeps the second position with four games lost. They share it with BC Donetsk and Dnipro. Khimik will play against Mykolaiv (#10) in Mykolaiv in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Azovmash will have a break next round.
