We should mention about the upset which took place in Tuebingen, where higher ranked New Yorker Phantoms (5-5) were outleveled in a road game by seventeenth ranked Walter Tigers (3-7) 94-63 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of New Yorker Phantoms. The game without a history. Walter Tigers led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. Walter Tigers outrebounded New Yorker Phantoms 37-25 including 27 on the defensive glass. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 59.1 percentage. American players dominated the game. Guard Reggie Redding (196-88, college: Villanova) fired 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Guard Joshua Young (185-88, college: Drake, agency: Pro One Sports) chipped in 22 points. Four Walter Tigers players scored in double figures. Power forward Rich Melzer (203-79, college: Wisc.-RiverFal., agency: Court Side) produced 17 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and guard LaMarr Greer (196-76, college: Florida St.) added 13 points respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Walter Tigers moved-up to fifteenth place, which they share with Phoenix Hagen. New Yorker Phantoms at the other side dropped to the tenth position with five games lost. Walter Tigers will face higher ranked Telekom Baskets (#7) in Bonn in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
