ProA top team - Mitteldeutscher BC (9-1) added another victory to their record on Saturday. This time they beat fourteenth ranked BG Karlsruhe (2-9) in Weissenfels 101-95. BG Karlsruhe was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 32-23 charge of Mitteldeutscher BC, which allowed them to win the game. It was a good game for center Phillipp Heyden (208-88) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Sascha Leutloff (202-82, agency: Limelight Hoops) contributed with 18 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Five Mitteldeutscher BC players scored in double figures. American guard Martin Samarco (191-85, college: Bowling Green) replied with 31 points and 6 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and his fellow American import center Justin Howard (208-81, college: Mercer) added 26 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for BG Karlsruhe. Mitteldeutscher BC have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 9-1 record. BG Karlsruhe at the other side keeps the fourteenth place with nine games lost.
