Regular Season Round 12: MBC - Karlsruhe 101-95

ProA top team - Mitteldeutscher BC (9-1) added another victory to their record on Saturday. This time they beat fourteenth ranked BG Karlsruhe (2-9) in Weissenfels 101-95. BG Karlsruhe was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 32-23 charge of Mitteldeutscher BC, which allowed them to win the game. It was a good game for center Phillipp Heyden (208-88) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Sascha Leutloff (202-82, agency: Limelight Hoops) contributed with 18 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Five Mitteldeutscher BC players scored in double figures. American guard Martin Samarco (191-85, college: Bowling Green) replied with 31 points and 6 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and his fellow American import center Justin Howard (208-81, college: Mercer) added 26 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for BG Karlsruhe. Mitteldeutscher BC have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 9-1 record. BG Karlsruhe at the other side keeps the fourteenth place with nine games lost. Mitteldeutscher BC are looking forward to face NBC (#6) in Nurnberg in the next round where they are favorite. BG Karlsruhe will play at home against Leitershofen (#15) in Diedorf and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
