Regular Season Round 13: Herten Lions - Bernau 93-86

Bottom-ranked SSV Lok Bernau is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they lost on the road their 12th consecutive match to fifth ranked Hertener Loewen (8-4) 93-86 on Saturday evening. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But SSV Lok Bernau won fourth quarter 26-25. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hertener Loewen made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Hertener Loewen especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 56.3 percentage. It was a very good performance for forward Vincent Kittmann (199-88) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 7 rebounds. American forward Josh Taylor (201-87, college: E.Kentucky) contributed with 24 points for the winners. Four Hertener Loewen players scored in double figures. American guard Jermale Jones (186-86, college: Tuskegee) answered with 31 points and the other American import power forward Martinis Woody (201-82, college: Benedict) added 15 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for SSV Lok Bernau. Hertener Loewen moved-up to second place in Group North, which they share with 3 other teams. SSV Lok Bernau lost their twelfth game in a row. They still closes the standings with 12 games lost. Hertener Loewen will have a break next round. SSV Lok Bernau will play on the road against SC Rasta Vechta (#3) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
