There was a small surprise when ninth ranked Selcuk Universitesi (6-4) won against 6th ranked Pamukkale (6-4) in Konya 85-72 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Selcuk Universitesi. Pamukkale was better in third quarter 21-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Selcuk Universitesi dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Pamukkale's 26. Selcuk Universitesi forced 23 Pamukkale turnovers. Forward Erdem Turetken (199-79, agency: Interperformances) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Mustafa Okay (200-82, agency: 1x1 Sports) contributed with 20 points for the winners. Guard Goekhan Senol (183-84) answered with 20 points and American forward Matthew Pilgrim (203-87, college: Oklahoma St., agency: KMG Sports Management) added 16 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Pamukkale. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Selcuk Universitesi moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Pamukkale.
