No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked USC Leipzig (8-3) crushed at home 10th ranked Giessen Pointers (2-9) 87-63 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 10-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 87-63. USC Leipzig dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Giessen Pointers' 30. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 4 passes made by Giessen Pointers' players. Quite impressive performance for forward Walter Simon (202-89, college: Cumberland) who helped to win the game recording 18 points. American forward Monyea Pratt (196-85, college: Stillman) contributed with 10 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Four USC Leipzig players scored in double figures. American guard Derrick Stevens (180-80, college: Colorado St.) answered with 17 points and forward Felix Rotaru (200-79) added 12 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Giessen Pointers. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. USC Leipzig moved-up to third place in Group South, which they share with BSW Sixers. Giessen Pointers lost their seventh game in a row. They keep the tenth position with nine games lost. USC Leipzig will face Fraport Skyliners II (#11) in Frankfurt in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Giessen Pointers will play on the road against Licher Baeren.
