Important game to mention about took place in Giessen. Thirteenth ranked LTi 46ers (4-6) saved a 3-point victory at home edging much higher ranked Brose Baskets (7-2) 68-65 on Sunday evening. The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. LTi 46ers outrebounded Brose Baskets 37-22 including 26 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of Bosnian power forward Elvir Ovcina (211-76, college: Syracuse, agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Nigerian-American forward Koko Archibong (202-81, college: Pennsylvania) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Four LTi 46ers players scored in double figures. LTi 46ers' coach Bjoern Harmsen allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American guard Brian Roberts (188-85, agency: Interperformances) replied with 17 points and his fellow American import power forward Marcus Slaughter (204-85, college: San Diego St.) added 14 points and 7 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) in the effort for Brose Baskets. LTi 46ers moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with TBB Trier and Bayreuth. Defending champion Brose Baskets keep the second position with two games lost. They share it with ALBA. LTi 46ers will play against higher ranked Bayern Muenchen (#8) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Brose Baskets will play against Artland Dragons (#4) having rather not much hope for a victory.
