There was a minor upset in Bonn where 6th ranked Telekom Baskets (6-4) were defeated by eighth ranked Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (6-4) 68-61 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 3 points after three quarters before their 22-12 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven outrebounded Telekom Baskets 37-25 including 29 on the defensive glass. American guard Anthony Smith (196-86, college: Liberty, agency: Pro One Sports) fired 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. The former international center Christopher McNaughton (211-82, college: Bucknell, agency: Pro One Sports) chipped in 12 points and 7 rebounds. American point guard Jared Jordan (188-84, college: Marist) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 assists and his fellow American import forward Tony Gaffney (204-84, college: Massachusetts) added 16 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Telekom Baskets players scored in double figures. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven moved-up to sixth place, which they share with B.Muenchen and Telekom Baskets. Telekom Baskets lost third consecutive game. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven will face New Yorker Phantoms (#10) in Braunschweig in the next round.
