Regular Season Round 8: Siauliai - Naglis Palangos 79-66

Very expected game when 11th ranked Naglis Palangos (1-7) was defeated on the road by third ranked Siauliai (7-2) 79-66 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 79-66. Siauliai made 21-of-23 free shots (91.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 22 Naglis Palangos turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Valdas Vasylius (203-83, college: ODU) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 7 rebounds and American-Samoan point guard Rashaun Broadus (183-84, college: BYU) who added 14 points and 4 assists during the contest. American swingman Bilal Benn (196-86, college: Niagara) responded with 24 points and 4 steals and his fellow American import center Dane Johnson (208-86, college: Hofstra) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds. Siauliai moved-up to second place. Loser Naglis Palangos keeps the eleventh position with seven games lost. Siauliai will face Sakalai (#9) in Vilnius in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Naglis Palangos will play at home against Techasas in Panevezys and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
