Regular Season Round 17: LKKA-Atletas - S.Marciulionio 81-75

No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked LKKA-Atletas (10-7) beat 14th ranked S.Marciulionio (6-11) in Kaunas 81-75. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But S.Marciulionio won fourth quarter 18-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. LKKA-Atletas made 16-of-18 charity shots (88.9 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was guard Sarunas Vingelis (192-89) who scored 29 points and 5 rebounds. Center Tomas Urbonas (214-92) chipped in a double-double by scoring 21 points, 12 rebounds and 6 blocks (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). LKKA-Atletas' coach Edas Nickus allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Guard Giedrius Kulbis (187-81) produced 14 points and 8 assists and forward Jonas Elvikis (195-82) added 17 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Four S.Marciulionio players scored in double figures. LKKA-Atletas moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Nafta Universitetas. S.Marciulionio at the other side keeps the fourteenth position with 11 games lost. LKKA-Atletas' next round opponent will be Silute (#13) on the road and are hoping to win another game. S.Marciulionio will play against Zalgiris-Sabonio in Kaunas.
