Very predictable result when eighth ranked Satu Mare (6-4) rolled over at home 15th ranked Iasi (1-11) 82-43. The game was mostly controlled by Satu Mare. Iasi was better in fourth quarter 19-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Iasi to just 6 points in second quarter. Satu Mare shot 61.2 percent from the field. They also forced 26 Iasi turnovers and outrebounded them 42-25 including a 32-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. Satu Mare players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Iasi's players. Worth to mention a great performance of Bosnian guard Amra Mehmedic (177-81) who helped to win the game recording 12 points, 9 assists and 5 steals and international forward Claudia Pop (185-89) who added 13 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Coach Dan Fleseriu's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was American center Ceciley Johnson (188, college: W.Texas A&M) with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds and her fellow American import guard Danielle Walker (178-86, college: Clark Atlanta) scored 8 points and 4 assists. Satu Mare maintains eighth position with 6-4 record. Iasi at the other side dropped to the fourteenth place with 11 games lost. They share the position with Oradea. Satu Mare will play against Olimpia (#12) in Bucuresti in the next round. Iasi will play at home against Cluj Napoca and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
