The most surprising game was the first loss of undefeated Anadolu Efes (7-1) in Bursa on Saturday night. Visitors were edged by ninth ranked Tofas (4-4) in overtime 97-96. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Anadolu Efes. The hosts trailed by 4 points after three quarters before their 17-13 charge, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time and get a 1-point victory in overtime. Tofas looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. 30 personal fouls committed by Anadolu Efes helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American forward Bradley Buckman (203-84, college: Texas) saved the victory by scoring 23 points and 9 rebounds. The other American import point guard Ronald Steele (187-86, college: Alabama) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 6 rebounds and 11 assists for the winners. The former international forward Ersan Ilyasova (207-87) replied with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and Uruguayan power forward Esteban Batista (208-83) added 18 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Anadolu Efes. Five Tofas and four Anadolu Efes players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Tofas maintains ninth position with 4-4 record. Anadolu Efes at the other side still keeps top place with one game lost. They share the position with Galatasaray and Besiktas. Tofas are looking forward to face Karsiyaka (#10) at home in the next round. Anadolu Efes will play against Trabzonspor (#14) and is hoping to win this game.
