Regular Season Round 14: Licher Baeren - Giessen 68-65

There was no surprise when 10th ranked Giessen Pointers (2-10) were edged on the road by sixth ranked Licher Baeren (7-5) 68-65 on Saturday. However just three-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Giessen Pointers were tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. American forward Tyrone Bradshaw (203-86, college: S.Indiana, agency: KMG Sports Management) had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import guard Brandon Chappell (183-83, college: Lamar) chipped in 15 points during the contest. Worth to mention Bradshaw played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped get the job in pro basketball. Forward Felix Rotaru (200-79) responded with 20 points and 6 rebounds (was perfect 12-for-12 from the free throw line !!!) and American guard Derrick Stevens (180-80, college: Colorado St.) scored 18 points. Licher Baeren have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain sixth position in Group South with 7-5 record. Giessen Pointers lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the tenth place with ten games lost. Licher Baeren will face TV 1862 Langen (#8) on the road in the next round. Giessen Pointers will play against Fraport Skyliners II in Frankfurt and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
